Why does my desktop sometimes disappear after boot?

    It's happened a couple of times on me. I would power up the computer, then the desktop will disappear. I can't click anywhere except the little rectangular box where you can see the My Computer icon. It seems like the actual desktop is hiding in there. If I change resolutions, it goes back to normal. to change resolutions, I can only do the right click --> properties inside the rectangle.

    Thats not XP is it? Or are you just running the old school theme?

    Have you tried updating your drivers? Is this recent? Upgrade to new monitor?

    That is XP, just old theme. Are video drivers installed?

    Forceware 169.21 It rarely does this. Could it be that I damaged my hardware from OCing?
