Why does my GTX 470 freeze in-game?

Well, I haven't seen too many good reviews for Raidmax, but I've seen plenty for Rosewill and Cooler Master. Saying they are garbage is just ignorance. The rest of your comment is baseless.

I got this power supply instead:

Good choice and should handle two 470's with ease.

What do you use that could possibly need a PhysX card. Two 470's in SLI is enough for anything.

Ya... I can't see no point in getting a card for PhysX if your going to have 2x 470's, even more so as you said you wanted a cheap card for PhysX... it just won't justify anything and just put a little extra on your electricity bill, not that you''d care considering 2 power hungry 470's but that's not the point, as I said, it just doesn't do any justice in the slightest.

Like to keep the game rendering to the GTX 470's. Would be cool if the PhysX card was inexpensive. I'm thinking 9500GT. Sacred 2 and Mafia II are games I want to play that use PhysX. More are coming.

You would lose performance offloading PhysX to a weaker card like that. It is completely unecessary.

How much horsepower do you need for PhysX? Shouldn't be that high for some extra smoke,water,wind effects,etc. It is an enhancement to the game, not the game itself. The third GPU slot for PhysX on my X58 mobo is x4 speed, so I don't want to saturate the bandwidth. I would think a 9500GT would cover most if not all the computational requirements of PhysX in-game.

PhysX doesn't use the entire GPU. It uses the shaders or "cuda cores" the 9500GT simply doesn't have enough. You are better off using both physx and rendering on the cards. Perhaps you should go find some reviews, do a little research on how PhysX works with different cards. A single 470 alone should even be sufficient. I suggest you try it first before blowing unecessary money. Then again if you want to do it, do it, it makes no difference to me in any way.
