Why the hell is the news section dominated by different manufacturers GTX760s?

TPU is real tech news. To imply that you don't get real tech news on TPU is disingenuous.
TPUs focus and scope is PC tech. It always has been and always will be.

NextPowerUp is everything else under the sun ... but there is no PC tech news as that is not part of its scope.

Everyone here on TPU are PC enthusiasts, and some may not like the more open scope of NPU.
That being said, feel free to visit and comment on either site when something suits your fancy.

All of the news writers on both sites work diligently to get the latest news to you in a timely manner, whether that be press releases or whatever. It's not just copy and paste, you have to hunt down sources and write articles on a daily basis, and it's not easy. If you feel you have what it takes to make either site's news better, then by all means apply for a position and let's see what you got.

It's not just copy and paste,

That is exactly what press releases are. I think, speaking broadly, most TPUers would prefer less copy/paste press releases clogging up the news feed.

That sucks. I enjoy the explosion of reviews the instant new cards are available. It's like a mini Christmas. They probably send you so many because they like your reviews.

Well, the information needs to get out. Perhaps the TPU news team will discuss alternative manners in which to present the new releases. I don't know. I am not on the TPU news team.

I just know that I would rather have the individual PRs in separate threads so they can be commented on by vendor as opposed to one big PR free for all, which would create rather confusing threads to a casual reader or anyone looking for specifics on a vendors' new release.

i will discuss the pr "spam" with the news team, but since all of you know how to scroll a web page i'm not sure if any great ideas will come out of it

I have no idea how to do this?

Why is this such a big deal. The cards are different and seeing a feed with the different versions allows you to see which one you like and others like not to mention to see information about cards failing.

I'm cool with just the vanilla review on launch day and the custom cards coming through over time as you get them done.

Agreed. All the custom cards should perform more or less the same as the vanilla (excluding cases where vanilla cards throttle) and the only real differences will be the PCB and cooling solution. I care more about the raw performance than the aesthetics IMO. :)

I feel like you guys haven't even been reading these reviews or paying any attention to the market. The stock card review is the least useful review and the least common variety of card for these mid range parts. Most of these cards go out with custom coolers and stock overclocks that make them perform an entire tier higher. Look at the 780. It was pretty boring in the stock config, but it was the evga and asus oc models that showed the Titan was now irrelevant and really got people buying the 780.

Sorry, but I knew the Titan was irrelevant after the Stock 780 review, I just had to look at the overclocking page. The same would be true with pretty much any other launch.

Here's my short defense to Ketxxx:

Don't like our news? Get the fuck out.

Long defense (to everyone else, who deserve one):

As someone pointed out, a new GPU launch is a bit of a festival at TPU. In addition to the reviews, it's a bit of a ceremony to make a post about each manufacturer's offerings. It instantly exposes our readers to the various offerings that are out there. They stay separate, and are easy to sort/find/search in the future. The manufacturers themselves feel gratified that their PRs are reposted on TPU. There are those that can't come up with PRs, and for them, we write complete articles about their offerings. It's equally important.

The last word (as someone who leads the news team): The way we cover a new GPU launch will not change. It's one of the many little things we do that work for us.

Didn't read every post, but mind you to those who think they should be consolidated, each company is essentially in competition to be the top reseller of the product (GPU's in this case), a single post would essentially negate the news industry's honoring of that fact, and possibly, albeit unintentionally, hurt the smaller companies sales, even to the point of putting one out of business. And mind you not all of the companies that release a card are available to every market, thus creating a need to group by different market, which would create another who situation of how to properly organize them. All in all there might be a slightly better way to do it, but it ain't exactly broke, so no big need to fix it.

EDIT: Remembering back to a comment I made in the Samsung vs Apple thread a while back, competition drives business.

As someone who enjoyed the **** out of Graphics cards, even before this job I think the amount of news and review aggregation TPU does is absolutely awesome.

Not only do they have an awesome amount of reviews themself (I know how short W1z is on time!) TPU is one of the few sites that doesn't mind linking to other reviews.

As someone who loves hardware, TPU is THE go-to site for all news.
