Will a 500W PSU work for this build?

    Will a 500W PSU work for this build? If not what should I go for?

    AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core

    EVGA 01G-P3-1460-KR GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

    8g of DDR 1333 ram

    500GB Hard drive

    Normal DVD drive

    I wouldn't trust hooking my new hardware up to a PSU that comes with a case. Look for something more quality.

    Welcome to TPU. :) Can you tell us the exact PSU model you have? It should be clearly printed on the side. Otherwise if you can tell us the case you bought which it came with I'm sure we could figure it out. Certain PSU brands tend to be far more trustworthy than others and for good reason, but there is also variability within brands.

    That's most probably a 350W PSU at best.

    tell me your 500w power supply .. its amp on 12v .. is it single or dual rail ?
