    hello,

my mobo Asus M3NHT Deluxe 780a is dead, and i need a new mobo to replace by next year. just wonder does anyone know and have info about the AMD800 chipset release? will it support SLI/CFX like intel do?

as I am using AMD PII 955, i might want to upgrade to AM3 and DDR3.

I am using gtx285 sli right now and will not change to new gpu yet next year. that why i am looking if there any SLI motherboard for AM3/DDR3

    thanks.

Do you really see AMD paying nVidia liscencing fees, for tech they basically already have? If you say yes, then maybe.

But to me, the answer to both is no. There is no reason for AMD to support SLi, as it's not an "open" tech. Just like Phys-X...

980a chipsets are out now, I think for AMD cpus, and SLi.

nice mobo. i might look forward to it. is there any other partners that release the 980a board for ddr3 than MSI?

I know that Asus also come up with 980a. but ddr2 only.

I know I'd be tempted to do so...and then, in the future, you are not limited to just SLi...although, as a gamer, nV offers the better package.
