Hi, will this work with my FX-6300 and ASRock 970 PRO3 R2.0 ?
Yes, although I don't see the point. 1600Mhz is probably better for your budget looking PC. 2400Mhz will do nothing in terms of performance in games.
Yes it will work, but your old ram operates at only 1866Mhz. The new 2400Mhz sticks will down clock to 1866Mhz if used together.
You can manually overclock the old sticks to 2400Mhz, but there is a chance it won't go that high.
I doubt it will work, look here seems the mobo has limitations *may run at 2000Mhz
Note: memory controler on that cpu is 1866
I would just buy another two sticks of what you already have if you need more memory. Faster memory isn't going to do a whole lot for you.
It technically will work, just not at its intended frequency, thus rendering it a waste of money.
Thank you for clarifying this point for others that read my post;. I on the other hand was already aware that it would
Note: after rereading my post I see how some confusion could be drawn from this
My bad, didn't mean to sound like a snooty smartass child.
