Will we ever see 3D with AMD/ATI GPUs?

As in title.

I prefer them, because of lower power consumption with the same performance (comparing to NVidia products), but I want to have an ability to watch movies or/and play games with stereoscopic 3D.

I think it's just a matter of driver. If they want 3D they can push for it, but i doubt they will do that.

You can do 3D on ATI cards, though you need 3rd party software to do it.

the 6000 series supposedly has 3d driver support. ( from AMD themselves)
