Now have Win7 x64 on the machine in my specs (well, installed on a second hard drive I'm swapping in)

I'd love to see the difference DX11 makes. Can you suggest good demos or applications that are FREE, for which I can see some DX11 eye candy and make me feel all warm and gooshy about the new install? :toast:

Try DiRT 2 with DX9/10, then try in DX 11. :)

Ran it last night, only mildly impressed. Wish they had some characters and animate objects.

I did that, but can't tell a diff....DX11 is the biggest wank in PC gaming, same with F1 2011, Dirt3.

You should consider a new mobo and CPU. A Core2 Duo really won't cut it with DX11 games.

Then you either didn't change between the two, your monitor isn't very good or you simply don't have the eye for it.

My Phenom is as fast as a Nehalem i3. But you'll get no argument from me, it's a pile of crap.

There is a Call of Pripyat benchmark download, Lost Planet 2 benchmark. Try Metro 2033 as well.

    No, not reallly:

BF3 does benefit with more than 4gb's of RAM though.

isn't BF3 not as extremely sensitive to CPU speed and cores? (as long as its dual core) at least majority of the results say so, Metro 2033 seems to like faster cpus and more threads.

This is the deal....I had a 4850{DX10} WinXP, I then moved to W7 64bit and a AMD 6850, and naturally one of the first things I did was try DX11 on these games....

    Dirt2
    Dirt3
    F1 2011
Deus ex HR.....I never saw this game other than in DX11, but it doesn't even look that good, lol.

If there is a diff, I can't see it, it would have to be pointed out to me, as such, even if there was a image quality diff, it's hardly a big deal as it's something I'd have to look for, unlike the diff in Crysis and Crysis WH on 4850 vs 6850, ie, a noticeable diff, of course, those are DX10 games.

I have one of the last 8 bit Acer 1920x1200 26in panels, a panel which is 4yrs old but continues to crap over every TN panel I've seen, so my next LCD monitor will have to be a DELL27/30.

You can also look at various ytube vids comparing DX9 vs DX11 and read typical comments like, "can't see any difference".

At least for me, DX11 is sheer marketing.

I have CoP and Metro2033, Cop looked like ass on my 4850 and also sux hard as a game, so I won't bother to reload that, but Metro2033 looked very good on my 4850, and will obviously benefit from 6850 horsepower, but I'm busy with Skyrim and rfactor2 atm.
