just at a guess, you an OC'er ?

If you reset your BIOS/CMOS, your clock could go back to earlier than the OS was installed (or even created) and that always causes it to think its pirated.

Even when you have legitimate windows your given basic desktop usage for 2 hours in order to fix problems like this, simply changing the system time/date would rectify this.

So a quick check for him, look at your system time/date with a simple mouse hover.

I'm pretty sure its not legit windows though Mussels, the CD is dodgy, their is no windows sticker on the box or on the machine anywhere.

Yeah I got slammed hard, it blows but I'm up early this morning about to pack it up as i'm driving down to get my Vista CD's a week early haha. I can't wait a week xD

    Hours Later Edit:

Everything is fine. The skipping is gone and my Windows is finally (actually) genuine again. Thanks to everyone for the help!

I recommend everyone I know to this website for general inquiries, you guys are a great crowd!
