Windows 7 Tips and Tricks

    I want to start a thread for everyone who doesn't know all the keyboard shortcuts and all of the tips to get windows running like a beast! Remember some of us are in our 20's and don't have the keyboard benefits from older systems when it was required to use them to operate a computer. But, lets not just get stuck on shortcuts. What programs can we trim or add in order to run windows better/more efficiently?:rockout:

    Win+Tab=3D Flip*
    Win+L=Lock Workstation
    Win+R=Bring Up Run
    Win+Pause Break=Bring Up System Properties
    Win+D=Show Desktop
    Win+F=Windows Search*
    Win+E=Open My Computer
    Win+T=Cycle through TaskBar Objects
    Win+P=Activate Projector/second monitor*
    Win+X=Open Windows Mobility Center(awesome tool for laptops)*
    Win+B=Select system tray(you can then navigate and select things with the arrow keys and space)*
    Win+M=Minimize all Windows
    Win+1 thru 9=Activate corisponding item in the quicklaunch/superlaunch bar
    Win+F1=Open Windows Help and Support
    F6=Select Address Bar(Works in Explorer and IE, possibly other browsers also)
    Alt+Prt Screen=Capture Only the Active Window
    Alt+F4=Close Active Window
    Ctr+Shift+Esc=Open TaskManager

    * means this command may only work in Win7 or Vista.

    The only one I can remember that was not referred is:
    Alt + Double-Click on an Icon (folder, file, shortcut, etc.) = bring up the properties window for that item.
