Anyone in on the beta, or release? I just visited connect for the first time in months and got a free key for RTM.

Looking for thoughts before I install it. Or waste the time to download and burn it.

I really want to know what the sys requirements are. If this can run well on slower hardware, I may finally decide to put together a file server with it.

    Sys requirements (IIRC)
    512MB RAM (1GB Recommended)
    10(?)GB HDD, 25GB Recommended
    1GHz CPU, 2GHz Recommended.

That's all I remmeberm and not sure it's right.

I'm using the Beta, it's the same as any other Server OS, except optimised for Media Streaming on the local network. You can't run a web-server from it.

I have a key for it, but never actually got around to installing it. My test-bed PC still isn't ready :(

You can actually install Server 2003 if you wish, and if you have a key or H2x0rz it. The whole setup directory is in the image. I don't know if the keys they handed out will work for the server 2003 install.

I have a few spare drives at home I might try this out on.

    That's why they invented VMware.
