GOTCHA! It's already a 64 bit os, so why is the system showing I have 6 but only letting me use 4?
Your Print Screen key is broken.
I was about to leave my house and wanted to show y'all. That would have taken more time.
One of my ram slots died in an x58 board I acquired recently. sh!t happens. Reseat and see if that fixes it.
Alrighty! Will do that then. Thanks Binge.
this happened to a friend of mine.. he had 4GB RAM but only 1.99GB usable...
I opened his CPU found one of his RAM stick was loosely hanging from the socket...
Reseated it and it showed 4GB...
reseat the CPU as well (clean the pads/blow dust out of pins).
Do you have 3x 2GB sticks?
Didn't fix it. Took them all out and reseated them.
Yeah same issue.
i'll have to I guess.
I'll try the other slots, it needs blown out anyway this case just isn't friendly to work in is the issue.
Does your GFX have 2gb?
No, just one.
Is your problem solved? Is it showing 6Gb in properties menu??
hmm reminds me of another topic here.
^ Yeah, I saw that a few hours after I posted mine..
