From what I've read, Vista SP1 had a 3-day activation bug in it which made Vista think you need to activate it. I've installed RC1 (on a LEGAL copy) and so far it hasn't made me reactivate. However, it does detect my vista as "evaluation copy" which can be fixed with a file replacement.

From what I have read there may not be a direct upgrade path from the release candidate version(s) and the official release. That would mean you will have to re-install Vista to upgrade to SP1 when it is released.

I think I will wait for the official release.

i am liking it so far, finally file transfers over my network don't hang! and as for reinstalling to get the full sp1, doesn't bother me, i guess it can be a pain for some...
