Is there away to have windows choose the same user profile as a default and boot all the way from the start up screen to the desk top with out stopping at the user profile selection page. I kinda wondering would make my life a bit easier

Get TweakUI Powertoys for XP, and you can choose to auto-login to a profile, I only use one profile and use this to set to auto-login for that profile. Works like a charm.

you don't need tweakui this is how you do it

go to run menu: type "control userpasswords2" no quotes
uncheck "users must enter login and password"

then restart and you are all good

That's true, I use TweakUI for a few other things though, so I just use it for the auto login also.

i hate using third party software to modify windows, i feel more acomplished knowing how to do it the old fashioned way lol. i had my last windows install with full software including viruscan rivatuner and o&o service boot with only 130megs of resources used lol, i never use the login so i could achieve a boot time of around 15-20 secs from poweron

well it sounds like you only need 1 user profile so why not delete the others and disable guest then it will bypass the password screen as you want
