I'm in the first stages of a complete rebench now.

    - Crysis 2 for typical gaming power consumption instead of 3DMark
    - Added multi-monitor power consumption
    - Added Crysis 2, Shogun 2, Starcraft 2, Dragon Age 2, STALKER Call of Pripyat

    Any ideas from the community?

don't use crysis 2 it's not demanding enough for a power test, just stick with something like the original or maybe dirt 2 if you reeeaaalllyyy want to use a console port

if your aiming for typical use cod(best selling shooter) or dirt 2 (current best racer)

would love to see a portal 2 now that its out

love the multi-mon power consumption though

Good luck with that W1zz. :p

AFAIK the sales for the PC version of the game wasn't exactly a great one, thus questioning the "typicality" of the game. :D

Those are great additions, in with the newer games, and another dimension to the power consumption section is always welcome, multi-monitor setups are slowly gaining ground.

None right now. Perhaps none even in the future though. I'm sure the others would have their own ideas to share.

Multi-monitor figures for the big-hitting cards & Crossfire/SLI reviews? Maybe this could be an add-on review after initial multi-monitor drivers for new GPUs have become stable? (I know some of the pre-release press-drivers can be a bit finicky)

    Battlefield 3 when it arrives.

One of things I would like to see is the charts to keep the numbers from previously reviewed cards. Mainly I'd like the SLi/Crossfire numbers to stay in the charts.

I'd also like to see eyefinity/nvidia surround numbers for some of the top configs.

multi monitor means windows desktop work with 2 monitors connected that have different timings -> modern cards dont go into the lowest idle state with that config

really:eek: thats incredibly surprising - in that case by all means use crysis 2

I hope your considering portal 2 though - been a long time since the last valve game

havent looked at it but i expect it to be cpu limited on most modern configs

if the system requirements are anything to go by - dual core at 2ghz its actually quite a bit lower then a lot of games lately which have been needing 2.4ghz+

would love a review which tested cards against their predesesors - gtx580 vs 480 vs 280 or gtx 550ti vs gts 450 vs gts 250

i had that for a long time but made a cut with dx11. in the current suite only 6 of our benchmarks are not dx11, the new will have even less

I would like to see other cpu's, not just high end stuff. Tbh, not everyone has these cpu's. Well I do realise it is an impossible job, but maybe 2/3 (low end cpu/mid range/high end)

    Avoid Furmark, useless now.

Overclock benchmarks move to Crysis 2, remove FC2 definitely, and also HAWX or HAWX2 or any nVidia sponsored title where nVidia card has god-like advantage.

    Didn't know that. Interesting.

I kind of meant though doing Eyefinity (and Nvidia equiv) testing of the top cards. The GTX 590 & HD6990 are pretty much overkill for anything less than 30" monitors so it'd be interesting to see them really pushed to the limit.

I realise though that eyefinity etc setups are a tiny section of the market, and often buggy, so it's probably too much work.

    Cheers W1zz.

I think it is a fine choice. Been playing it quite a lot.

    Getting 40-50fps on my 6950 with Q6600 at 3GHz.

    Add: That is at 1920x1200.

I just emailed Sapphire complaining to them that TPU and your reviews are used by a large majority of folks to justify their video card purchases. I requested they send you a card. I hope this works. I also asked if there will be a 6970 Flex

If I hear anything back I'll let you know

absolutely no plans for eyefinity. they invented it so they can sell $600 graphics cards to run console ports

not possible .. i cant justify benching three times as long and having three test systems around
