I'm looking to upgrade my RAM ( need more multitasking power at the moment ), and I decided that I'll buy 1600 MHZ modules EVEN THOUGH I have a mobo that only supports 1333 MHZ, due to the fact that I'm planning on a motherboard+CPU upgrade a bit later this winter/early spring.

Anyway, I'm fairly certain myself that 1600 MHZ DDR3 will clock itself down to 1333 MHZ if inserted in such a mobo, but I'm asking here just to be sure.

Mobo is : http://msi.com/product/mb/H61M-P21--B3-.html#/?div=Detail

RAM that I'm planning on buying : http://www.corsair.com/vengeance-8gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmz8gx3m2a1600c9.html

If anyone would be so kind to reassure me, that'd be great :)

It will work just fine. You just might not have the option to run it at 1600, but you may be able to tighten the latencies at 1333.

Wish I could reassure you but I am using that same ram in my new ASUS board. It to is not on the MB list and it does default to 1333 for me. I override it in bios but I am still having random crashes for the last month. The last time my board did not boot at first and gave me a memory light error.

I would recommend going with the MB recommended vendors list and save yourself the headache. JMO.

I would get G.Skill Ripjaw DDR3-1600. It tends to be cheaper and perform better than Corsair in my experience. As stated it should run, but you may have to drop it down to DDR3-1333, but you would get great timings at that speed to compensate.
