Yea I just bought the game, installed it and I still cant make a damn profile. If I cant get this working by tomorrow night I am gonna sue activision.

i just finished coop, with me and 3 mates. took us about 5 hours.... so yeah, shooort.

im meeting heavy resistance! but not in the form of jap's... i got errors up the ass when i started the sp and mp.
first an error report, then a small popup window that says: "Error during initialization: Unhandled exception caught" and i also get what seems to be a crash log witch ends in: "Error during initialization: Unhandled exception caught".

there are a couple of simple fixes out like adjusting the audio sampleing rate and deactivating an audio device in device manager. none of these have worked for me so far and i have uninstalled it now and im gonna do some updates and shit tomorrow...

any suggestions?

Did you uninstall the demo first? Also did you patch it? There is already a 300meg patch for the thing. I made an online profile fine last night and played for hours online. However I did get a few errors saying "server authentication fail" and I would have to restart the game to join. However once I was in it played fine. I have a feeling you may have some residuals from the beta or a "trial" version in your system thats causing a problem.

Anyway I am going to do a review in my thread (see sig) once I finish the single player.

I know of the fix for this. However, it revolves around cracking the game. one of the 4 systems here, cant play coop (SP and MP are fine) without being cracked.

I'll delegate it to PM's now, as despite the fact its for legit use, links to warez are not allowed.

Dont take it back man. Fix the problem. You have the support of an entire tech forum and your going to let this beat you? Its a good game and worth the effort. Let me know if you want me to test anything on my end. :toast:

Order it now man and then overnight it for the release date. That always works here in the states. Sometimes they screw up and send it early

i got rid of those pesky "Unhandled exception caught" errors and now i just get a black screen, well at least treyarch were correct in boasting that cod5 would be the "darkest" cod yet :laugh:

OMFG!!! i just fixed this after ten minutes of intense googleing! all i did was renamed "C:\program files\activition\call of duty world at war\main\videos\Treyarch.bnk" to "treyarch.old.bnk"

theres a crack which helps the unhandled exception (another instance of pirates winning over retail users) and as jeno said, some people have codec problems with the bink video. you can fix that in FFDSHOW by telling it to not work with cod5's exe

I like the single player so far, but haven't played it much.
To much football on the weekends. The multi player is OK.
I do have to say the weapons sound pretty week. Getting
a little tired of Keither Sutherlands sceaming thru the
whole thing too.:shadedshu
Got Frontlines FOW Friday too from Newegg. They
forgot to put it in with my video card.
It is better then I expected.

Tatty One there is already a patch for W@W. About 300 mb.
