My current card is a 8800 Ultra overclocked by default, stats are (taken from rivtuner):

    Core clock/ ROP domain: 657Mhz
    Core clock/ Shader domain: 1663mhz
    Memory clock: 1123mhz

I was just wondering, I really like the look of the new ATi 4870 X2 2GB but would not like to spend that sort of money if my current card is still in its essence. It runs very well and very cool now with my new case so what are your thoughts?

The rest of my rig is:
    Q6600 Quad @ Stock
    4GB OCZ PC2-8500
    P5k Premium
    750W Tt PSU
    Thermaltake Armour VH6000BWS.

any input would be greatly appreciated.

the 8800ultra is still a good card, its performance is a tiny bit higher than a HD4850 so it depends on you really, do you think you need a new card right now

if your current card does what you want then I would say theres no point in an upgrade

the 4870x2 is quite hot, but since it exausts out the back, i dont know how much the case would heat up. only thing is the heat coming off the back of the card might affect temps as well

Not worthy of trying to upgrade from an 8800 Ultra if your gaming just fine currently.
