Alright, my friend wants to jump into computers. He wants his rig to be AMD based, so please don't suggest Intel parts. He also wants it to be Spider, so I guess that leaves out Nvidia. Anyways, he is very picky, and I have picked parts that are both visually appealing as well as specs. So please if you have any suggestions about them, just keep them in "his" parameters.

This is what I have so far.

$119.99 - NZXT LEXA-NP Black/ Silver Aluminum Construction Plastic Front Panel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

    $235.00 - AMD Phenom 9850 BLACK EDITION 2.5GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Processor Model HD985ZXAGHBOX - Retail

    $154.99 - MSI K9A2 Platinum AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

    $329.98 - SAPPHIRE 100225L Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail (2 in Crossfire)

    $179.99 - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX ATX12V / EPS12V 750W Power Supply - Retail

    $74.99 - Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model PDC22G8500ELK - Retail

    $119.99 - SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD753LJ 750GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

$58.99 - Logitech G11 Silver & Black USB Standard Gaming Keyboard - Retail

    $219.99 - LG L206WTY-BF Black 20" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor W/ f-Engine - Retail

$52.99 - RAZER Copperhead RZ01-00050300-R2M1 Chaos Green 7 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Optical Gaming Mouse - Retail

    $36.99 - XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler - Retail

    $6.99 - ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 Thermal Compound - Retail

    $38.97 - Antec 761345-75025-7 120mm Green LED Case Fan - Retail (3 of them)

    $38.99 - Logitech X-230 32 watts RMS 2.1 Black Speaker System - OEM

    Total: $1,618.84

Of course, that is without shipping. He said his budget is $1,500, but didn't mind paying a little over (i.e. +-$150). He will be using it for gaming, and that's it. I have XP ready for him so I don't need an OS either.

Thanks in advance for any help. :toast:

He isn't gonna do too much overclocking, if any at all. the only reason I got him the blacky is because it has the highest stock clock. Also I was looking at the Lanparty mobo for about 20 minutes, and knew he would screw something up. Remember, my friend is somewhat new to computers, and He will probably get lost in bios...*HMMM what does this button do?* Then his house catches on fire. I think I will upgrade to the bigger Xigmatek...it's only a few extra bucks.
