Okay, quick back story. Yesterday, got my new OCZ Vindicator, replaced my Scythe Samurai-Z. Fiddled with it for ages trying to get it on the mobo. Finally got it on, and temps were higher.
I thought it might be loose, maybe too much/too little paste, but I'd rather not mess with it more.
Earlier, the PC was turned off, I was cleaning the PC, when suddenly, SNAP, CRASH. The HSF comes tumbling down.

Long story short, I either need a new CPU retention bracket, or else a new motherboard.
Has to be Socket 939 compatible, and I'd love to buy a Sapphire Pure motherboard. I've seen an auction for one on Ebay, and I'm watching it, but thought I'd ask if anyone has one here that's for sale.

I've got a budget of about £60, with a bit extra for shipping.
Basically, if anyone has a (preferably metal, or at least very strong) Socket 939 retention bracket, then I'd love to offer you cash for it.
Or, if anyone has an ATi chipset mobo (preferably Sapphire Pure mobo, y'know, the white and red one), or a decent nForce 4 board, I'd love to take it off your hands.

Oh, and the retention module must be compatible with GA-K8NF-9 motherboard.
Or, if I get a motherboard, then I'll sell or trade my current board.
I'm using this as an excuse to upgrade, if possible, heheh.

EDIT: Seem to have found a nice enough MSI Crossfire motherboard for S939. MSI MS-7194 on Ebay, a few people have purchsed it, reputable seller (Evesham Technology), and only £25, plus free shipping
It seems I'll be looking for just the retention module now. I'll either re-use, or sell the GA-K8NF-9
If anyone wants, I can sell it with the current retention module, it's broken, but likely replacable.
Just ask for a price.

Thanks,
Fil

Thanks for the link, good for reference.
I've ben checking out Ebay mostly, as I can't find the links with the more specialised websites.
If anyone knows of, or has a good aftermarket model, stronger, fits S939, and preferably metal (so that it won't crack under strain, like the stock one), please, post here. I've failed in finding any non-plastic ones.

Also, never realised just how many things Socket 478 has for sale for it. It's still really well supported. Anyhu...

It's similar to mine, but mine has a different backplate, Gigabyte K8 boards seem to be using different backplates, but if it works, then I'll consider it.
I'm still looking for a stronger metal one, but I'll PM you if I find out it fits, and if I can't find stronger ones. Thanks.

No probs,I'm still using the backplate on my water system but the bracket should fit yours anyway.

A metal one probably would be better as these are not that strong,if nothing turns up let me know. Not sure if ever seen a metal one anywhere!!

EDIT:Mine is off the board in my sig

I forgot that Ebuyer still stocked some SLi boards. I just immediately guessed they'd be overpriced, like Scan's Crossfire S939 boards.
I ended up buying a used DFI LANParty Crossfire board. Can never remember exact model numbers unless I'm using the component, but I can remember the price. £35, free delivery too :)
And oily, the fact you're using the backplate is actually fine, I just remembered I wouldn't need to replace the backplate, it's the front, where the HSF clips actually hold onto that needs replacement. *Smacks head* can't believe it took me that long to figure that one out, heheh.
