I am in desperate need of a 478 heatsink, right now I'm running a 754 heatsink, and it doesn't fit right, and my CPU overheats.

If you have a spare HSF, and you don't want it anymore, I'd appreciate a PM :)

Thank you

I'm located in Bradford, PA

That was only under load for about 30 seconds, from 50C Idle.

I plan on doing some CPU-intensive work on this rig, but I can't right now :(

i wouldn't advise running anything CPU intensive until you get a cooler sorted

have you had a look on eBay?

you only really need a cheap stock 478 cooler

I think I have one but without a fan (I need to check it again). If it's the right one that you need, it is yours:)

I got the stock heatsink from the Prescott based Socket 478 processors based off the socket 775 design. Does a damn good job, even if it is a little dusty. Yours for $15 shipped.

thats so unlucky, and wiered :wtf:

i didn't think there were differant types of heat sinks for 478, you will just have to find a cheap coller bracket thing on eBay for stock HS/F (i'm pretty sure i saw one)
