Wtf? activation?

Well ive got to have XP on my computer probably since the beginning of time but logging on today i got a damn accuracy message and said i had to activate XP again!! This wouldnt be a problem except it wouldnt let me log on until i did it! well after a few minutes arguing with a Microshaft representitive its sorted but i am not happy at all that it just asked me randomly and wouldnt allow me to log on until it was sorted! :mad:

You can log on by simply booting into safe mode. You can do the same when Windows locks you out when your 30 days for activation runs out- that way "certain people" can apply the necessary "patches." Not that one of them is me or that I condone that sort of behaviour - I actually do have a genuine version of XP Home.

I had a weird experience when I was overclocking an older puter... I was pushing the envelope when XP did the same thing to me. While I was on the phone with MS getting a new activation code, I had rebooted, and reset CMOS. The problem dissapeared, I hung up with MS before getting the code. Problem never happened again.
