$20 season season pass just announced

DLC is called Anarchy’s Children, Alien Hunters, and Shen's Last Gift, and they'll release in the second and third quarters of next year.

Anarchy's Children, the first add-on, features "dramatic soldier customizations," while the second add-on has new gameplay as an "elite alien hunting unit." It will also include new missions, armor and weapons, along with customization options.

The final part of the Reinforcement Pack, Shen's Last Gift, will offer a new soldier class and upgradeable weapons and armor, and a new map and mission.

So basically, wait till the end of 2016 for a complete game.

I have XCOM: Enemy unknown, but have never played it. The original X-COM series is so dear to my heart I don't want to ruin it. The gameplay footage from EU didn't look like it was true to form. They even left out the hyphen in the title.

I still have my original Terror from the Deep CD-ROM I played every incarnation of X-COM including the spiritual successors and just recently finished Enemy Unknown (saving the Enemy Within expansion for the next time I need my fix). Although none have matched the original games for me, these latest titles are definitely the closest thing to genuine X-COM I've played.

enemy unknown was ok, but felt sorely lacking like the pacing was off. Enemy within fixed many of my issues with the game and padded it more, but still felt... short? a little too much filler/repetition.

looking forward to this, as i still enjoyed the previous 'two' even with their flaws.

Firaxis got some things right (I like the way base is outlined, it doesn't make much sense technically though), but it is too dumb compared to original XCOM (which was a SIMULATOR!) and I am not talking about JJ Abrams style idiocies like "explode the black hole".

Will still play XCOM2 though... (not much to choose from =/)

Xenonauts, "UFO:Extraterastrials" are much closer than what Firaxis did.

How freaking realistic it is that you can adjust not only name (even original xcom misfired here) but even look/skin color of a soldier?

this unit is called The Faceless

This unit disguises itself as a normal looking human until provoked when it transforms into its true inhuman form. Unnaturally tall, these alien foes have significant reach with their claws. The threat of this unit being hidden among the regular populace in conjunction with civilians having a chance of removing concealment from the squad makes not only civilian rescue missions but civilians in general much more of a liability.

I loved the creepy "not quite right" look of the Thin Man.

new Chryssalids

• All melee attacks cause poison.
• XCOM soldiers and civilians killed by poison become cocoons.
• If a cocoon is not destroyed during the gestation period, three new Chryssalids emerge.
• Can burrow underground, but cannot move while burrowed.

The Codex is a new unit that can teleport around the map, can disable your squads weapons for a turn and each time you attack The Codex but fail to kill it in the same turn it creates a clone of it self.

The Archon (new Floater) fires mortars that force your squad out of cover.

I've just read it. It hyped the shit out of me. Also the graphics look hugely improved and are not as caroonish anymore.
I'll definitely buy it in few months (it will take a long time to be reasonably patched).
