Well i just upgraded my PC this week. Got a A8N5X Asus Mobo, AMD 64 3000+ and a x1800xt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102697, that one.

Everything is working great except it seems the x1800xt doesn't change clock speeds for 3d apps. In ATI CCC it shows my current VPU/RAM as 500/495 and the 'requested' speeds are 500/495 too, shouldn't they be 600/700 and requested be 625/725?

I tried flashing my bios to a 'stock' one. But windows found new hardware, so i tried reinstalling drivers but i got some INF error. Thank god i made a backup bios.

For the Xl, yes 500/495 are stock, not the XT. My X1800XL was doing something simalir, ATI tool wouldn't recognize it and I couldn't bump the clocks up. It started giving artifacts, so I RMAed is ass back to new egg.

I got same card, it defaults to 600/700 2D and 625/750 3D. I'd try forcing it and see how it runs, should run fine!

Is it a Sapphire card? I think newegg may have gotten a bad batch of cards.
