Tofu: I was wondering if you tried Winflash to bring your card back? I know most people don’t seem to like the program but if you card is already dead then you have nothing to loose and everything to gain.
I have revived two cards in the past that ATIflash wouldn’t see. One card I was purposely flashing with wrong BIOS files to see if they would do anything. They all failed and “killed” the card every time. Thanks to Winflash though I brought it back to life every time. This is why I’m optimistic for you.

It’s easy to see if you have a chance. Just install the program and if it sees your card then you have a good chance of being successful. As for using Winflash it’s pretty simple to do. I don’t remember everything to do but it took me no time to learn. It was also made easy by the fact that I was using Intel integrated graphics during the process like you are doing. It won’t let you flash the Intel GPU with an ATI bios keeping things simple.

Good stuff on those of you with the Pro core. I have an ATI Branded card with an XL core, so I'm going to wait and see if anyone gets the XL pipes unlocked. If anyone needs my bios image, or someone to test, let me know.

Help me out here. Winflash wouldn't start on my system.

EDIT: this is very bad, WINFLASH DOES NOT START

Just tried Winflash and all I get is "cannot find discrete ATI video card". WTF? I even tried version 1.0.5 which I used before and got the same thing:banghead: . No luck in safe mode either. The only thing I think is diferent than before when it worked for me is CCC. I would say try and old version of CCC but I don't think drivers form eight months ago will work for an X1900. Sorry

DAMN!!

But, right now I'm using 6.5 Beta, which doesn't have CCC, so I don't have to install .net Framework. Maybe that's why it doesn't work.

WOW! These are damn nice clocks. When you get to a certain point, can you post some benchies?

BTW, I was talking about the use of ATI Winflash (in windows), not ATIFlash. Besides, the card is going RMA tommorrow, after I take a picture of the core.

EDIT: Are you being conservative in your memory voltage? Before I sold my X1800XL, I had my mem voltage running 2.125V 24/7.

What is your ram voltage now?

And what is your liquid cooling setup? 44C under full load is some serious temps.

927Mhz for 1.4ns chips is WICKED!!! :rockout: :rockout: :rockout:

Pls post some benchies soon. :D

EDIT: you should have at least an 80mm blowing over your voltage reg. heatsink

What command line did you try with atiflash?

http://www.mvktech.net/content/view/17/37/

ATIFlash Commands

Backup ATI Bios:
atiflash -s 0 backup.rom

Flash New Bios:
atiflash -p 0 newbios.rom

Force Flash New Bios:
atiflash -f -p 0 file.rom

Use ST M25Pxx flashing algorithm regardless of ROMID straps:
atiflash -st -f -p 0 file.rom

Use SST25VFxxx flashing algorithm regardless of ROMID straps:
atiflash -sst -f -p 0 file.rom

I hoped that would be the problem, but...

I have tried to kill Ati2evxx.exe before lauching atitool, still not working : find maxcore makes lines as soon as it starts, screen flickers ; and when I'm trying to up the core and mem settings it crashes as soon as I apply them :ohwell:

No idea what the problem is. If anyone has a clue

Of course I'm using the titool version posted here a few hours ago

[btw, never had to kill this ati process when I was using atitool for my 9700]

Yes, i have same problem... but you can refresh desktop and other, this is not crash or something. It is only some artifacts when clock is changing... after change clock, refresh desktop and aplications... artifact is no longer to generate, check artifact scanner on atitool. (sry for my english :p )

Tofu, could you please tell us how you fix the card after the flash with "XL" BIOS on "PRO" core and atiflash does'n recognize it?

Thanks in advance
