Motherboard MSI NF725GM-P43 micro
Cooling stock
Memory 8GB G.Skill Ripjaw (DDR3-1066)
Video Card(s) EVGA 9600GT
Storage Vertex 2 60GB SSD, WD 250GB Cavair
Display(s) Dual Asus 22"
Software Win7 (32 bit)
Recently installed the X1950XT CF as a single card (basically a X1950XTX), and noticed the display on my Syncmaster seems to have much less smoothing to the background, even with all the filters turned on or off. My X800GTO seemed to produce a cleaner looking display.:(

The X1950 definitely gives a more realistic nature display (water, grass, trees, etc), however, even the WinXP opening page is blocky (the upper left portion of the window has a white ring that progressively fades to the blue of the rest of the screen, the x1950 shows the rings of varying shades instead of smoothing them). :wtf:

I reinstalled the latest CCC, and ATITool, but no change.

Can anyone suggest a reason or a fix?

Can anyone offer any suggestions? Would an older version of ATITool help?

Whenever you install a new graphics card, even from the same company, run driver cleaner pro and then install the drivers with the new card. Did you do that?

Try going into Display Properties > Settings and making sure "Color Quality" is set to "Highest (32 Bit)".

I replaced the mobo, CPU, and video card, so it was a fresh install of the WinXP Pro SP2, and the CCC.

Is that necessary for a new install of the OS?.....I thought it would wipe out the saved data on the HDD's and load everthing new...:wtf:
