i think it's because of the bios... it was not the original bios that i flashed. its fine now, so far... but i did not got high overclocks like i got before i flashed my bios. i just used my 16pipelines, then overclocked it to 535/500 <--- where its the most stable.... before i mod my bios, my mem clock went as high as 570.

try this bios... its basically the same as yours... i converted it to 16p. use the modified flashrom in flashing. the flashrom16p file which is downloadable from the article that talks about modding x800 and x850 pros to xt pe.

only use the modded flashrom. if you use some ordinary flashrom and atiflash, then it will just preserve the 12pipelines of your videocard... goodluck!

i ordored this card a couple days ago http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16814102465Rand was wondering if anyone can tell me if it unlocks to 16 pipes for sure? and if so did you also oc it too and if so what did your oc wind up being

i did read this user review
http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustRa...gesize=&Page=3

Comments: Flashed BIOS to X800XT, unlocked all 16 pipes and OC'd core from 450 to 530 and mem from 475 to 550 (1100). With AMD A64 3000+ OC'd to 3500+ on 3Dmark03 went from 9,500 (stock) to 12,500; on 3Dmark05 went from 4,200 (stock) to 6,200; Doom3 @ 1024x768HQ 103 FPS and @ 1600x1200HQ 61 FPS ! ... better or as good as any X850XT/PE and 6800 GT/Ultra that cost twice the money ...

yep thats it

but in the user reviews a guy says he unlocks his and also overclocks it too.
but everyone that i talk to says same thing your saying like (dont think it unlocks) god i hope it does cause there was an x800xl i could have got for just like $20.00 more but i didnt cause i thought this card could unlock to 16 pipes and also oc to an x800xt pe or an x850xt pe

either way its not a bad card but having the 16pipes does make a big diff

problem after 12 -> 16 pipes

hi, i'm new and i've got a problem :

my gc is a Powercolor x800 pro vivo, so i decided to unlock the 4 pipes so before it i backuped my bios using ati tools, under DOS, I usea gigabyte bios GVF11to unlock the 4 pipes, it works like a charm and after that i reflash with my bios to be sure.
Under windows, i reinstalled my drivers, and with ATI tools -> 16 pipes so great ;) but under 3dmark, it's really strange (before flashing i had 4890 points and now, it depends in fact, i've got 5024, or 5183 or 5732 or 4340 or 4100 ... oscilating ...) under the game, it's not as fluid as before i think ... event if I go back by flashing to 12 pipes with my old bios, it's the same thing, same scores ... is here another bios better that this one (gigabyte one) ?

What is really my problem ?
I didn't overclock my card, and i've got no artefacts ... thanks for helping

I dont think that the bios is your problem, but post your old bios and i will mod it to 16pipes and the see what is happening. Also post your computer spects.
