Look your mail. You should find there Automated Bootable Flash Utility with Modded to 16 pipes BIOS, X800XT, X800XT PE and of course the original BIOS. Just follow the instructions and be happy ;) .

Let us know how the things are going on :D

I have spent a few, well more than a few hours trying to get my new AGP ATI X850 Pro (Vivo) to X850XT PE specs.

I used Flashrom and I did have to force it, but it now says X850XT PE in ATI Tool and in Everest, but just 12 pipes I have read a good many posts and while I did see several solutions, none worked for me.

I have uninstalled all ATI software , I ran Driver Cleaner Pro and deleted all ATI references. I down loaded the Motherboard chipset drivers from Uli. I unistalled the video card in Device Manager.

It is possible I did not do everything in the correct sequence (I don't know that there is a correct sequence)

I am using a ASRock 939 Dual Sata-2 board, Venice 3500 (2.6), 2 x 512 Cas2.0 Super Talent PC3200 (2-3-3-6), 160 gig Sata 1 Seagate HDD, Lite-On DVD-RW and 2d CD-RW, a floppy, a SeaSonic S-12 430W PSU, Audigy 2 Value. and maybe significantly I am running Win XP Pro X64.

Die Fuses 0xFFFFBFFF

Substrate Fuses 0xFFFFFF9E

ROM Fuses 0xA60

Pipe select 0x12B84

Can anyone tell me what I missed?

BTW I bought from ATI's clearance Center (Available only in US and Canada) for $139 delivered, new card, not a refurb. now a week later they are $119 US.

You are missing F's where B and E are. That's why you will remain with only 12 pipes nevertheless your efforts and flashes ;) .

Stuck huh? Well still a great card and I do have the Arctic Cooling Silencer 5 Rev 2. It's my first return to card clocking since my 9500 Pro. Thanks Dolf I asked you about the fuses in another Forum. This answers all. Thanks again. I am satiffied.

I assume that my newly purchased x850pro from the ATI clearance center is not unlockable to 16 pipes, having read several threads about it here.

Just in case, here is the ATItool stats for the card. Please let me know if I am wrong and it can be modded to 16 pipes. In any case, am planning on getting a Sytrin KU Formula VF1 plus gpu cooler, so will still be able to overclock nicely.

Thanks for any help!

That is where I got mine a little earlier for $20 more though. You have the same fuse problem. I did flsh mine to X850XT PE speeds (after running at those speeds for thirty minutes with ATI tool to check temps) I do have a aftermarket cooler though.. Mine resides in a ASRock Dual Sata-2, and my X2 4400 arrives Thursday. Pretty happy camper here.

I got the card from ATI clearance for $139, but heard that later, just before they removed it completely from the site, that it dropped to $119. What sort of speeds have you been able to get out of the x850pro, Pandaz? And do I absolutely need to flash to the xt bios, or can I achieve similar speeds just through overclocking? I run the card on an old Asus A7N8X-deluxe, with a amd 2800+, two gigs of mem, with a sata drive. Just clunking along until I decide to switch to pci-e. It's a good enough setup to run Oblivion at full tilt, though, so it should keep me going for a couple more years.

And good to see a fellow Oregonian here. I reside about 15 miles southwest of Salem. :)

I paid $139 too, but they dropped to $119 for a week. You can use ATI Tool and set up several different clocking profiles, I just thought there might be a side benefit to the Flashed Bios and I was trying to unlock the pipes at the time. I am running 540/590 now.

I get down your way now and again. Pretty country.

Socket A forever! Though I am using a ASRock 939 Dual and getting a X2 4400 and 2 Gig of GSkill Thursday

Awsome card from yesteryear! Still strong today! You can Download and use ATI Tool, it would allow some overclocking.

First I want to thank the people responsible for this site for I was able to learn how to tell if I had a card that was unlockable and how to mod my existing bios to unlock it to 16 pipes. I too bought a x850pro from ATI clearance and to my surprise it was unlockable and I was able to unlock it. Thank You! I had heard before I got the card that all new cards were laser cut but mine turned out not to be the case. I was curious how many people that got one of these cards were they locked in the bios and not laser cut? It looks like it was hit or miss and I was very lucky. I also wanted to say to people to definitely get a better cooler as I got the ATI Silencer 5 Rev.2 and dropped my load temps by 22-24°C.

Hi,

I have problemes after flashing my Asus X800pro to XT. Flashing was no problem, and for a while it workt great. But after updating my drivers (Cat 6.8).... my screen turned in to a blur. Whit stripes etc etc.
I have tried a different XT bios files and Cat drivers (6.8), now it only happens while running atitool and sometimes at startup i have these blury white stripes. After a reboot its gone (sometimes), what to do?

Hello,
I recently purchased a Sapphire X800 Pro VIVO card. I just read W1zzard's article on modifying the card's BIOS to unlock the extra 4 pipes, and I have a couple of questions.

First, how can I tell if I have successfully unlocked all the pipes?

Second, if I install the X800 Pro VIVO 16P 256 MB BIOS (I don't want to overclock the card), I understand that WinXP will recognize the card as an X800 Pro. Do I have to do anything special so that the Catalyst drivers (or games I play) recognize that the card now has 16 pipes instead of 12 pipes?

I apologize if these are dumb questions, but I'm new to vidoecard mods. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Normally these problems arise from clocking the core or memory too high.
What is the core and memory settings in mhz?
Did you flash to the XTpe bios?
If so use ATI Tool to downclock the core and memory just enough to eleminate these problems.
