No, But i wanted to put this AC extreme cooler on my card, how ever that would require modding that black plate and i wanted to avoid doing that due to warranty.

The warranty void stickers dont apply to North America Region. what country are you in?

North America and i am fully aware of that which is one reason i like getting XFX.

is the mod permanent damage? what exactly is getting damaged? if its not the PCB, we should be able to authorize damaging the cooler. Pictures are best if you can PM them to me.

The black plate that covers the VRM's and memory chips is in the way of the fitting of the AC cooler to fit correctly.

Here's the cooler, you can see the silver plate that allows you attach the cooler from the picture, that hits the metal plate ( near the PCI-E connector )

This would a cooler mod only nothing to the card would be changed.

what temperatures are you seeing? In the never ending quest to lower VRM temps, sometimes people go to far... cementing on new VRM coolers may slightly lower temps, but if they are still in the acceptable range, you shouldnt glue anything to the VRMs... the potentional for physical damage when removing them is very high. Just an FYI, i dont advise gluing vrm syncs down

well once the weather kicks in here the vrm1 will hit 90c, i have placed a fan on top of the card ( pointing at the card as the other way would kill it ) which keeps the temps around 10c lower.

What benchmark are you running?

I only use OCCT once i have seen the idle temps when a new paste is applied to see worse case.


I will post a pic later of how it's running with the new paste and cooler.

Indeed and not the 1st time they helped me out either. One was with a cooler that i found faulty and some one wanted it and i sent it to them and they sent a better card to the buyer as they did not have a replacement cooler.
