XP installation help

    i have lost my XP installation CD but i still have the code thingy (i put the sticker on my case), will any XP installation CD recognise my code or will it only work with the CD that i lost, in other words, can i borrow someone elses CD for the installation and will it work?

    Depends on the version. Unlike Vista, you would have to find a disc (the proper release IE Pro SP2 , Home SP1 yada yada) that matches your key.

    ahh true, damn i think the original is SP2 while the CD i have is SP1

    haha, well it wouldnt exactly be piracy cause i still paid for my key, i'll look into that.
