So the razer edge tablet got me thinking. 1367x768 with the 640 being snuff to almost run games fully cranked. Sounds pretty good. Anybody happily gaming under 1080?

I am currently gaming on a Samsung 32" hdtv with a resolution of 1360x768 and to be honest, it looks very good in most games. I do change it to 1900x1080 in some games like COD, but right now I am currently playing FC3 in the native res and it looks absolutely vivid! Love it!

The native res is usually the maximum resolution on the monitor, because that is what it was built for. Is that not the case with yours?

Was gaming at 1440p until a few days ago when I got a new 46" 1080 tv. Looks better than I thought it would and much more comfortable than sitting at my desk to game all the time. Dont think Ill go back anytime soon.

Had a nice 1920x1200, but it broke on me.

Using an older 1600x1200 which is nice, but would like a bit wider view.

Well that has always been something confusing about this monitor. I thought the max res was 1360x768 (native), however when I change the res (in games only) to 1900x1080, the graphics do in fact improve. When I exit the game my monitor automatically reverts back to it's native resolution. I don't quite understand it myself, is the game forcing the 1080 res though software or does this hdtv actually support 1080 over the native 768?

Thinking about building a steambox to use in big picture mode on a 720p plasma TV. Maybe an APU based system or an i3.
Also have an older machine kicking around with a CRT, I use it for linux and run video game console emulators at low res.

A poll would be nice, however the OP is asking if "Anybody happily gaming under 1080?"
I do not think the OP is asking what resolution people use...
    I could be wrong though:)

I think i'll make a poll anyway, some day.

Anyway 1280x1024 and its great for gaming. Can play most games on high settings with my cheap heap of junk.
    HammerON says thanks.

Sounds good. Could a mod throw in a poll? I've been on the gaming world for a while. Don't know all the resolutions people use. And I thought 1080 or 1200 was the bee's knees? Surprised to see so many under it. I guess if I big screen with a smaller resolution that didn't look weird, I could handle it

Hmmm. I like eye candy without breaking the bank. I wonder what the low res while still looking goof for gaming?
