That's not entirely true. Halo brought back Co-op game play, introduced regenerative health systems, it brought good music back into FPS's, and it got away from the standard World War 2 shooters that were plaguing the times.

I have to totally agree on this.

Why do you say that?, i stated all my reasons for hating Halo dumbshit.:slap:

Just a joke.

And I feel your reasons don't have any foundation.

LAWL, me offended? Never. However I think you need to play the game on Veteran like a real man.

Hard mode is EASY.

You seem butthurt that you got pwned in MP.

 I played on Veteran the second play through (and the third) and it was a little bit harder, because it's easier to die, but that doesn't make it any better or longer. The strategy is the same, move move and move ahead while killing, once you reach the next "waypoint" they stop spawning. You stay on cover, they can spawn forever...

And I wasn't pwned in MP, :roll:hahaha they wished, the kids I mean. You know what? You are like those kids, and that's why you got offendeed. And please, don't pretend you aren't.

Besides, forget about this, I'm not going to continue with such a name calling noob that gets offended because some random guy in the internet doesn't like a game he likes. Poor boy, get a life.

If you want to reply -> PM, that way you won't ruin the thread completely and I can ignore the post just like here.

That's nice, but for me it didn't do any significant to the genre or to gaming in general to justify the hype behind the game.

It's just another mediocre shooter.

I hate that waypoint nonsense thats my only real problem with COD4, you stay in cover and they never stop spawning.

Honestly, name the last FPS that did. Does a game have to be revolutionary to be good? Halo is pretty mediocre in all aspects of the game, but it's more than the sum of it's parts. Everything works, it has good vehicle controls, it has original characters and enemies, and it's well balanced and most of all, it's just flat out fun.

I have seen technological marvels that just aren't that much fun. Halo 2 and Halo 3 were pretty sad, but they were still fun. I am not a fanboy, but it seems harsh to say a game is bad just because it didn't change anything.

And if you are fast enough (which is not that fast actually) you always catch them offguard or before they get in cover. Take a look at this, look how he kills most of the enemies before the AI even knows he is there. That's because the AI is coded to take cover first shoot later:

http://speeddemosarchive.com/demo.pl?CallOfDuty4_PC_regular_13859

1:38:59

It's on regular, and he runs too much, sometimes even forgets about some enemies, but for the most part that is how I play the game, that type of games actually. I loved COD1 + expansions and COD2, that's why I knew how to best play COD4, there's no sense in falling into the boring spawning trap. If you play that way, sans the rushing to the checkpoints, but moving to them as fast as you can while killing people you do 2:30 easily. Remember that most of the games objectives are "follow that guy", "reach that chamber" "help somebody" so going there as fast as you can, even if you leave one or two enemies behind does make sense within the context of the game. "Kill everybody" is never the objective.

EDIT: BTW I've seen more of that video and I'm much better at shooting than that guy (AKA I don't spray). After almost 10 years playing CS (and almost 10 more playing FPSs), shooting in COD4 is like cutting butter with a knife.

I remember when Halo was released back in '01, i played it and i didn't care for it, it was just another generic console shooter to me.(With Half-Life still leaving an awesome taste in my mouth) But then all of a sudden everyone is like ''omg teh Halo'z 2 is commin out!!1'' and it just turned me off more from the games because it showed me how low the standards are for the people playing . I just don't think it deserves to be up on that high of a throne(from ads of it on Doritos bags, to even car's painted Halo themed).

+ Top 5 best (in order of appearance)

PS - Gran Turismo
- Oh the memories. That game got me constantly notice that I don't even look at the track or anything, I was just pressing the right buttons at the right time.

PC - Unreal
- It was a beauty... But I lost the CD somehow, never seen that afterwards...

PC - Deus Ex
- All time favourite. You just could do almost anything what you like, choose what you say, chit chat about politics and philosophy... smash the crates xD, throw, hack, pick, detonate, shoot, talk, swim, destroy, kill, whack, disarm, listen, look, score points, upgrade, recharge, walk, sneak, run, blast, drink (alcohol), smoke... It was all there. You could even do drugs... or sell them. I just wait to see modernized version of the original DE

PC - Operation Flashpoint
- Warm memories... Never passed the last mission. Going solo and try to kill all... that was fun.

PC - S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow Of Chernobyl
- This is the new favourite, this one showed me the importance of lighting effects and how the atmosphere should be done... In fact I was more impressed from the graphics than in Crysis when I walked out of Sidorovich's bunker at the first time. Kinda weird...

-Top 5 worst (in order of appearance)

NES - Days Of Thunder
- I was too young to understand the basic physics of the car :p

PS - ...some snowboard game (can't remember the name)
- It had horrid annoying slow music (bass and more bass) and a trick called footloose. Then there was a police car chase in some point (?)

PC - Pariah
- Randomly awkward Havok physics...
- "It's not YOU we want! It's the GIRL!"
- "We gonna flush you out!" (or was it "in", I can't recall)
- I would really appreciate if someone could tell me what the plot really is...

PC - Advent Rising

Probably the longest game I've ever played (still not through with it). At least it feels like it. The main character is a dick. And YOU have to play that character...

PC - NFS Undercover
This fails in almost everything.

I can see your reasoning. Halo 2 was overly hyped, they claimed it was going to be the best game ever and it wound up being Halo 1.5 with multiplayer. The only two games that I can think of that were that hyped and delivered that much disappointment were Doom 3 and Fable.

For me, playing the game that way in campaign isn't very fun, I only play like that in multiplayer.

na serious!

I didn't like the atmosphere of the game. Didn't like the controls/interface with the environment. the storyline didn't do much for me and to top it off, the early levels were just too hard for me (sure I suck). perhaps it wasn't truly bad, but after all the recommendations I had heard it really pissed me off that I didn't like it.

I love the F.E.A.R games XD

The atmosphere was what made them awesome, I remember in F.E.A.R coming out into the street for the first time, and the remnant is hailing a cab, without thinking you shoot at it waking it up and making it run round like a loon, that the first time I played was genuinely a WTF moment ha ha.

All the Remnants are pretty epic though.

My favourite bit in the original fear though is the bit where your climbing down a ladder and aget a surprise, then another one at the bottom of the ladder.

F.E.A.R actually made me feel uneasy when I was coming up to a point I KNEW something scary could happen, it was just like being in a creepy place in real life.

I loved FEAR, and agree, the atmosphere was what made that game outstanding. That and the scary moments, although they abused them IMO. By the second half of the game it was pretty clear for me that as scary as Alma appeared to be, she would never hurt me. She did kill me in that hall in the end, when she finally attacks you, because I didn't shoot. "Come on darling, come here, yeah... you're getting closer this time around eh? You want a hug? Come on... WTF!!"
