Zalman published details about its 3D display on its website. Their new 3D displays are available in 19" and 22" versions and can display both 2D and 3D images. The 19" ZM-M190 has a 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution while the 22" ZM-M220W uses 1680 x 1050 pixels. Both displays have a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 nits brightness (up to 400 for 22" version) and a 5ms response time. Check the ZM-M190 and ZM-M220W product pages for more information.

Well, no good for me. Zalman site says ATI cards do not/will not support 3d games in XP/Vista. Looks interesting though (for the right price).

Which graphics cards support the 3D feature of Zalman’s LCD monitors?
    The graphics cards that support the 3D feature of our monitors are as follows;

    1. For playing games in 3D

    [Windows 2000/XP User]
nVIDIA’s 5000, 6000, and 7000 series (8000 series is not included) support playing games in 3D. ATI and other graphics cards currently do not support 3D games.

    [Windows Vista User]
The stereoscopic driver that supports 3D games for Windows Vista and up to nVIDIA’s 8000 series is expected to be released in January of 2008.
(ATI and other graphics cards will not support 3D games)

    2. For watching videos in 3D

All graphics card support watching videos in 3D.

So basicly nothing powerfull enought to play games is supported xD But 7 series nvidia owners could enjoy this and next year Vista + 8800 series owners.

It sounded too good to be true, without seeing the price, but if it's "cheap" it might be a hit next year.

    3D View Angle : 90˚(L/R) / 10˚~12˚(U/D)

Ouch, if you don't keep a very good posture, 3D image will be gone instantly, 10 degrees is tiny! :)

3D? Who cares! And Zalman?! WTF. They need to stick to making their kick-ass coolers where their name is worth it's weight in copper (I had to).

even though i usually do buy from nvidia i wouldn't buy this product simply because of its restrictive compatibility and i personally do not buy products (main boards excluded) that promote restricted compatibility and usage.

Their site shows glasses being used to show the 3d...

I remember a while back some company developed a laptop that did 3d without glasses needed. Anyone remember that?

Since when? And what the hell does that have to do with a monitor?

    Why the hell not?

What the hell is this shit? A monitor is a monitor. It should work with ALL systems regardless of how many CPU cores and no matter what video card you use. Why only just those three generations of video cards? And why the hell should it matter what OS you use?

    Piss on this monitor.

Check out Zalman's website. They have an image showing how 3D works.... Its basically two LCDs on top of each other that create a 3D effect.

I played on a 3d monitor at quakecon, not that great at all, the colors get lost in translation. I remember the same effect was achieved back in 93 when Doom came out (Not quite as good, but still good to a 7 year old)

Meh, Tn-Film. I'd pass even if I did have a supported card.

Didn't my Geforce 3 Ultra do this when it came out with the bundled glasses. Seriously, what a waste of money. Everyone knows unless it's 3 projectors going, it's not going to look good.
