Maxtor makes my throat burn. I would personally put heat shrink over the cables.

hahaha max temp is 30C without any fan in front

Heat shrink would make the cables better looking. The Maxtor makes my throat burn not because of heat, but because of bad experience.

Put some imagination into it mod that case twin 80mm fans at the front were the vents are maybe a nice spray job round cables lcd screen in the floppy bays?

doesnt matter about hardware to me this is a case mod gallery hardware shouldnt really come into the voting.

i can't set up front fan cause of my 0/1, restart, hdd & power led, thats the main reason to get my friends case :D

what kind of votes were you looking for,,, when you show a computer a 2 year old can build, to be honest I wouldn't even give you a vote because your pc don't belong in the case mod gallery. but if you are 2 years old,, Nice job, looks great.
by Joshmcmillan (April 23rd - 11:02 AM) - Reply
It does look very clean inside the case.

Well its not a case mod as nothing has been done to the case... also the parts themselves are pretty standard... but having said that, its neat and tidy :)

Dont stress about people giving you grief over your case, its only becuase they were expecting SLI graphics cards and quad core chips ;)

So, you take the worst parts money can buy, put them together in a garbage case, and take pictures without half the parts in it...

Right... 3/10

You guys are assholes.
Show a bit of positive attitude and constructive criticism.

He already told you he doesnt have the newest of parts at this time and that he tried to do some cable management. No need to repeat yourselves like stupid sheep and whinge about the lack of hardware.

How about making some comments and actually encouraging someone to improve rather than bagging them out and being an elitist prick to anyone that doesnt meet your standards?

His cable management was pretty clean, points for effort. He beats the millions of people out there on the planet that never even attempted to achieve anything with their computers internals. Good on you for taking pride in your computer, and making it an object that reflects yourself as a person. Because at the end of the day, thats what being a computer enthusiast is all about. Its the first step towards further modding.

well said,,, but I never called anyone names, just gave my opinion, just like you did, I build computers all the time, but I dont post everyone I do, I try to post only the ones that I have modded in some way or another, this is a case mod gallery, not a look at my unfinished taped-up pc gallery, thats what the project log is for,, but then again I'm an AHOLE & your a pretty little flower.

So yeah, to mod a case you don't need the best parts, and usually you can use stuff lying around the house, or pick it up at the hardware store. That is what I did at least, buying a few cosmetic goodies at newegg.com and a 1990's Super Power case came out pretty good.

The parts aren't the best.
Intel Pentium 4 socket 478
845GL chipset
FX 5500 128
2 x 512kb Kinstom HyperX PC2700 3-3-3-7
320W antec PSU
Dell CD/DVDrw drive
80GB Western Digital Caviar

So it isn't the parts that make a mod go, just the effort you put into it. Just remember take your time, plan before you do, and if you need to, read the sticky on modding cases. Helped me out a lot. Good luck man

Link to my case mod.

Looks very clean on the insides, good job on cable management (but i don't like that tape in the middle, too much visible) ... though i'll put the rear-exhaust fan inside the case, looks strange outside, besides that, just a simple painting will make this rig look alot better and talking about materials ... if you can borrow a drill machine i'll cut a hole into the front-bottom to place a 80mm intake-fan to improve the airflow inside the case.

Less noisy? If you close the side panel are you sure it's less noisy than running it inside? Cause i really doubt it

I say give the case a sand down, four coats of black acrylic or enamel, and then a clear coat of lacquer, and she'll be pure sex. As for the hardware, don't sweat, hardware is hardware, people have what they can afford. Personally I haven't done any physical mods to either of my cases but they still kick ass ;3

Throw the worthless crap out, get a job, save $500 and buy a DELL.... AND DO NOT EVER EVER EVER EVER OPEN THE CASE !!!!! LOL LOL
by twicksisted (May 3rd - 7:41 AM) - Reply
dude, seriously dont listen to them... for what you have, you did a great job :)
kids will be mean with the things they say.... youve showed what you can do neatly... and when you do have money to buy better parts, you will have a lovely rig that you really appreciate.
by tkpenalty (May 3rd - 12:23 PM) - Reply
*Tk takes a HUUUGE sigh* I remember I was in this position before. One olllld PC, and then I ghetto modded the crap out of it. What did I get? The same stuff. Some people were impressed at how far I took the ghetto mods (LOL).

The thing is most of you guys are just being inconsiderate douches, geez... give this guy a break. He probably:

1. Does not have an income
2. Has limited pocket money.

I was also, and now also am in that situation.

I praise him for trying, to get the system as good as possible. People like this once they have enough funds to do the stuff they want generally will do good things (this applies for everything else).

The wiring really badly reminds me of what I used to do :p. How about if you fold that IDE cable in half so its thinner and looks better? Do a bit of crimping instead of using the masking tape for the IDE cables. (Whats that DSL thing tho....)

Reapply the masking tape holding the dust filter a little bit better, and in a more cleaner way.
