This is kinda a work in progress, the only mod really is the AKASA 80mm LED fan running @ +5v instad on 12v. I am only posting it just to see what other people think, not to show off how much money my mummy and daddy got. Once i'm working again i will slowly start modding it more (cut out side window, some cold cathodes, UV reactive cables and definitly a new hs/f for CPU) but, for the time being this is my rig, and i like it :->
Overclocking: Core2duo e6300 1.86GHz @ 3.0GHz 1.35v idles at around 50c with (basically) stock HS/F Crucial XMS2 DHX DDR2-800 @ 1071MHz 4-4-4-14 @ 2.2v Xpert Vision Geforce 8500GT Sonic (600/600 stock) @ 720/725

I don't understand why you would go out, buy the fancy memory, the 700W power supply, and then get a 8500gt...

You would have been better off with a 7600 gt or a 6800 gt/ultra and saved some money...

Also atm your rig doesn't need more than 350W from a good power supply...

the reason i have an 8500GT is because when i bought that graphics card i had a very differant PC (P4 3.0GHz, 1GB DDR.etc) and like the title says "gamer on a budget", and as i'm on a budget i can't really afford a geforce 9800 and also a 9800 isn't going to work very well with a 350w PSU is it? and neither is any other decent new hardware. Now i'm back at work i'm going to start saving up for a new graphics card, CPU, motherboard, case, hdd.etc.etc, but until then, this is my rig.

I think some of the confusion to new members is, under the main page it reads (Case Mod Gallery) But when you look at it under the forums section it reads (Case Gallery) both the same, but the views & titles are different. also the orders are different depending on who posted last for what case. I see allot of new members showing there cases that are not modded in anyway & getting bad ratings, because they are not modded, maybe just thinking there showing there build in the Case Gallery. I think this could be resolved if there were two different listings, Case Mod Gallery & Case Gallery. The modded builds that are finished after a project log or modded build from new members for the Case Mod Gallery, Then the builds that were done for mom, dad, brother, sister, & so on that have no mods done would be posted in Case Gallery. I'm not trying to tell TPU how to run there site, because it's a good site, this is just my opinion. Also maybe, better Ratings for the builds that have no mods.

yehh i agree, in my opinion, i think there should also be a computer gallery, just to show your build, and also the modding gallery for finished projects like steelkane said, but thats just imo and TPU is still best forum for computers regardless.

oh, and i am fully aware that my PC would get bad ratings because of lack of mods, i posted it mainly to show friends, and even for future referance, not for comparison with £5000+ computers

Your CPU and mobo are fine, just focus on the video card. A C2D at 3Ghz+ is plenty fast for today's games, it's mostly just the video card performance that hinders anyone with that sorta setup. Only other thing to add would be a better case; that one seems like it would get toasty, only having a single 80mm exhaust.

Otherwise, nice build, esp for budget.

My computer was on a budget too, albeit a little higher than yours I guess.

thanks for understanding what "gamer on a budget" means DiabloAzul126, and a new graphics card is definitly next, then a new case.

oh, and if you call you PC budget i'd love to see what high end looks like DiabloAzul126 lol

Heh, well I only spent about $800 On it total. So it's sub-$1000 -- And the parts in it now are worth like $500-600.
