Drilled hole in 5" bays to feed Front I/O Panel Cables through so they dont hang. Cut off one of the Front I/O Firewire Cables because I never use it :D.
I love this case. Its huge and has great airflow. Spaces for up to 7 120mm Fans. Its quiet and its solid. Quality Construction.

Nice case Reven. But you gotta do some something about those messy cables.
And maybe ad a couple of coloured led fans.
Untill then i'm giving you a 7. As soon i can vote.

Yeah the cables I can really only fix if i made some holes in the mobo tray. It sits flush to where my drives enter, with no gaps to put cables through. I suppose I could neaten them somewhat though.

As for the coloured LEDs, I didnt really want more fans. My case is silent :D.
The Red LED fans I put in were very audible. Nonetheless, some nice Coolermaster LED fans would do quite a nice job.

Thanks for the critique :toast:

You're too wealthy for your own good :p.

I'm kidding with ya, very nice case, very fine parts. Only thing I'd really do to improve that fine thing is swap the 19" monitor with a nice large widescreen. Once everything is all configured (aka your resolutions are all set), you'll really enjoy it. Gaming is just way more realistic on a widescreen.

I have a 19" Widescreen too. I dont like it lol...
It just feels weird. I like the taller field of vision for some reason.

Goodmorning BTW.

8/10 because its a Sydney rig! and i dont know why teh case manufacturers spam us with firewire crap either (when was teh last time you saw firewire anything outside of a mac shop) nice parts and its not a bad thing to reject flashy stuff to maintain silence..especially when your full tower its on your desktop.

I use firewire all the time. It's faster than usb. Some camcorders only use firewire as well. But then again, I may be biased, I do own 3 Macs. lol
by ex_reven (April 22nd - 8:51 AM) - Reply
Thanks drunkenmafia, i really love your new sig btw ;)

@ Wile E, Ive never used it once...I know only that its for digital camcorders but I know of no other uses for it. I also wiki'd it and read up abit, its alot faster than USB 2.0.

I guess its only disadvantage is that unlike Universal Serial Bus it isnt UNIVERSAL.
If it was, we'd probably all be using it all the time :D

LOL at the Mac usage, theyr awesome for graphics applications (in fact id love to try one for photoshop, even this comp dies in photoshop on some of the high end stuff...im guessing id need a multi CPU rig with like at least 4Gb of 1000-1600mhz ram to keep up with the stuff im doing...itd be interesting as to how the Mac copes with the program).

btw, i dont "hate" firewire lol, i just find it useless atm. If I ever need it, i have onboard firewire on the back I/O Panel Anyway ;)

My early iPod and all of my drive enclosures are both USB2.0 and Firewire400. I use firewire whenever I can, but keep USB2.0 around for when I can't.

?? well the book says the one close to the cpu is the slot 1 look on CPU-Z it should say which solts there in

yeah idk when im going to have to wait till next weekend to put up my wcooling cuz im out of town :(
by ex_reven (April 22nd - 10:24 AM) - Reply
Yeah it doesnt matter which slot. As long as both modules are in the same slot they are in the same channel, which allows them to run in Dual Channel

Sorry if i offended anybody who still utilizes firewire. i honestly forgot about you camcorder guys as i dont have one..firewire certainly does have a significant speed advantage for camcorder applications...although no reliable hotswap could be an issue...i feel manufacturers where to late in adopting the widespread use of this format...therefore when the did they overcompensated a bit...i also heard whispers of apple dropping support...sorry to threadjack...(shuffles back to corner)

Your case has a lot of potential, a lot of room in it to hide the wires.
It's a nice setup you have going on there.

What are the temps at idle, and load of the CPU OC to 3Ghz with the Golden Orb II Fan???

Temps are shite, about 38-40 degrees idle. According to Everest.
Apparently ASUS has shit temp sensors, i dunno. When i ran a stress test the temps didnt go up very far, only made it to around 44 degrees. Temps have never been a problem with my OC, not so far anyway.

I gave you an 7. your cables are organized but could be tidied up a bit (I know its a pain in the azz though). either way good job on them, their out of the way.

if you want quiet fans you should look into arctic cooling ones with the rubber mounts, cheap and very high quality/effective. it was on sale for 6.99can http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=21209&vpn=ACF12L&manufacture=Arctic%20Cooling

I ordered some 80mm 2000rpm arctic cooling cans for my case.. no mounts hope thier silent like the 80mm rubber mount one I got.

Bored, eh Reven? lol

I was just thinking, my wiring is a lot like yours, don't you find it a bit strange that a case as cavernous as ours, can be so hard to wire cleanly? lol

Yeah. Its friggen crazy. But at least it doesnt matter as much. Imagine having crappy cable management in one of those tiny HTPC cases :p.

I dont have time to fix something that trivial lol...
im currently photoshopping a photo of the city, I have to remove ALL of the people :p
by tkpenalty (April 25th - 7:46 AM) - Reply
Man ur case is great. A few easy fixes you could do:
-Fold IDE Cable into thirds (width) then ziptie
-Sleeve/Gaffer Tape the AcceleroX2 fan wir

hey x-reven when you opening the sidepanel does this nickel serface scratched??
by ex_reven (June 4th - 10:53 AM) - Reply
What do you mean?

The area where the side panel slots into?
by ex_reven (June 4th - 11:09 AM) - Reply
Here are two photos of the scratch areas, and a photo of holes i drilled to put the front panel power/usb/reset/audio cables through :)

IMO the scratching isnt that bad, and only takes place where the door hooks into the frame of the case. If you were less violent (i dont really care about things i cant see) you wont scratch it too badly. I use too much force when I close the doors i guess :p

Hope that helps you
by techn0l0gy_b0y (June 4th - 11:14 AM) - Reply
yes that there scratched mine too bt why is to all stackers the same????
by ex_reven (June 4th - 11:17 AM) - Reply
Do you have the Stacker 830 or the 810?

Sorry I didnt understand you, are you asking why all stackers get scratched like that or why all stackers look the same?
by techn0l0gy_b0y (June 4th - 11:30 AM) - Reply
i have stacker 830 like yours and i told u that mine stacker scratched too bt from the left side not the right side and why all the stackers are scratched here and another question does your powerled works???
by ex_reven (June 4th - 11:37 AM) - Reply
Powerled works. Blue when on standby and red when computer is on.

As far as I know, theres no way this type of aluminium can be free of scratching...its inside anyway, so no big deal.
by techn0l0gy_b0y (June 4th - 11:38 AM) - Reply
mine powerled does not work never why i try to connect it with different ways bt no result
by ex_reven (June 4th - 11:46 AM) - Reply
check the manual, and use the Connector that comes with the board.
Maybe you have it plugged into the ground and the ground plugged into the 3v bit
by techn0l0gy_b0y (June 4th - 11:47 AM) - Reply
now is connected with the connector and i try without the connector bt is the same why??
by ex_reven (June 4th - 11:54 AM) - Reply
Did you check the manual?

You must be plugging it in the wrong place, theres not really any other reason for it
