| Performed Mods: | Well, this is a project that i did on the side of my Achilles rig. A friend gave it to me because the hard drive was fried (they talked to the guys at best buy and they wanted too much, so they gave it to me). I bought a new hd with a cooler for it, re-installed Win Vista 32 bit and poof, it works! Soooooo, i decided to take it apart (had to clean out the pounds of dust), and painted it textured black with a second coat being gloss black. I wrapped most of the cables and wires (high end, expensive and rare.........electrical tape..ha). I cut out a 80mm port on the top panel, changed out the stock 250watt psu with a 500 that i took out of my Achilles case, cut out about half of the side panel, and cut out the hard drive tray (it was trash) and the portable media bay, the front port for it and i cut out the 90mm fan grill on the back of the case. I mounted the hard drive in the bay that was for the portable media drive (pain in the you-know-what), and sanded down and added black trim window molding to the side panel. Cut some plexiglass and added 2 120mm holes for some Apevia green led fans. Mounted the window to the panel with industrial bolts and nuts, added a biohazard fan grill to the 80mm exhaust fan on top and now i use it to watch movies and online tv. |
| It can play some games buts it not a benchmark pc. It plays Transformers, Doom 3, Unreal tournaments and Star Wars Republic Commando just fine on low settings but the gpu gets pretty hot since the board sits upside down (the fan on the gpu competes for air going to the psu, i added a slot cooler and blower to help bring temps down). Hope it doens't get too low of a score..:-) | |

tip: Since heat rises I would recommend flipping the top fan to exhaust out of the case. That way you have a one direction airflow as well.
I voted 10/10 cuz it looks really cool love what u have done with the HP case
