The Quadro FX 4700 X2 was an enthusiast-class professional graphics card by NVIDIA, launched on April 18th, 2008. Built on the 65 nm process, and based on the G92 graphics processor, in its G92-880-A2 variant, the card supports DirectX 11.1. Even though it supports DirectX 11, the feature level is only 10_0, which can be problematic with many DirectX 11 & DirectX 12 titles. The G92 graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 324 mm² and 754 million transistors. Quadro FX 4700 X2 combines two graphics processors to increase performance. It features 128 shading units, 64 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs, per GPU. NVIDIA has paired 2,048 MB GDDR3 memory with the Quadro FX 4700 X2, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface per GPU (each GPU manages 1,024 MB). The GPU is operating at a frequency of 600 MHz, memory is running at 800 MHz.
Being a dual-slot card, the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4700 X2 draws power from 1x 6-pin + 1x 8-pin power connector, with power draw rated at 226 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x S-Video. Quadro FX 4700 X2 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface. The card's dimensions are 267 mm x 111 mm x 39 mm, and it features a dual-slot cooling solution. Its price at launch was 2999 US Dollars.
