The Radeon X1900 XTX was a high-end graphics card by ATI, launched on January 24th, 2006. Built on the 90 nm process, and based on the R580 graphics processor, in its R580 XT variant, the card supports DirectX 9.0c. Since Radeon X1900 XTX does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The R580 graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 352 mm² and 384 million transistors. It features 48 pixel shaders and 8 vertex shaders, 16 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). ATI has paired 512 MB GDDR3 memory with the Radeon X1900 XTX, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 650 MHz, memory is running at 775 MHz.
Being a dual-slot card, the ATI Radeon X1900 XTX draws power from 1x 6-pin power connector, with power draw rated at 135 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x S-Video. Radeon X1900 XTX is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 1.0 x16 interface. The card measures 242 mm in length, and features a dual-slot cooling solution. Its price at launch was 399 US Dollars.
