The FirePro M7740 was a professional graphics card by ATI, launched in August 2009. Built on the 40 nm process, and based on the M97 graphics processor, in its M97 GL variant, the card supports DirectX 10.1. The M97 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 137 mm² and 826 million transistors. It features 640 shading units, 32 texture mapping units and 16 ROPs. ATI has placed 1,024 MB GDDR5 memory on the card, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 650 MHz, memory is running at 1000 MHz.
