ATI FireGL V7200

ATI FireGL V7200 Image ATI R480 Image
The FireGL V7200 was a high-end professional graphics card by ATI, launched in October 2005. Built on the 130 nm process, and based on the R480 graphics processor, in its GL variant, the card supports DirectX 9.0b. The R480 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 297 mm² and 160 million transistors. It features 16 pixel shaders and 8 vertex shaders, 16 texture mapping units and 16 ROPs. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). ATI has placed 256 MB GDDR3 memory on the card, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 600 MHz, memory is running at 650 MHz.
We recommend the ATI FireGL V7200 for gaming with highest details at resolutions up to, and including, 1280x720.
Being a dual-slot card, its power draw is not exactly known. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x S-Video. FireGL V7200 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCIe 1.0 x16 interface. The card measures 229 mm in length, and features a dual-slot cooling solution. Its price at launch was 1,279 US Dollars.
