The GeForce GT 555M 2 GB was a mobile graphics chip by NVIDIA, launched on March 26th, 2012. Built on the 40 nm process, and based on the GF116S graphics processor, in its N12E-GE2-A1 variant, the chip supports DirectX 12. Even though it supports DirectX 12, the feature level is only 11_0, which can be problematic with newer DirectX 12 titles. The GF116S graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 238 mm² and 1,170 million transistors. It features 144 shading units, 24 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. NVIDIA has paired 2,048 MB DDR3 memory with the GeForce GT 555M 2 GB, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 675 MHz, memory is running at 900 MHz. Its power draw is rated at 35 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device. GeForce GT 555M 2 GB is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface.
