The GeForce GT 620M was a mobile graphics chip by NVIDIA, launched on March 22nd, 2012. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the GF117 graphics processor, the chip supports DirectX 12. Even though it supports DirectX 12, the feature level is only 11_0, which can be problematic with newer DirectX 12 titles. The GF117 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 116 mm² and 585 million transistors. It features 96 shading units, 16 texture mapping units, and 8 ROPs. NVIDIA has paired 1,024 MB DDR3 memory with the GeForce GT 620M, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 625 MHz, memory is running at 900 MHz.
Its power draw is rated at 15 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device. GeForce GT 620M is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface.
