Acer has a history of designing Ferrari-branded notebooks powered by AMD processors. The newest in the league is the ultraportable Acer Ferrari One. This is one of the first implementations of AMD's Congo notebook platform that makes use of ULV tech friendly AMD Athlon X2 L310 dual-core processor clocked at 1.20 GHz, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics and a 11.6 inch 1366 x 768 pixel screen. The biggest selling point besides the Ferrari branding, colours and is its ultra-thin chassis that looks to have a dash of carbon fiber. Other specs include WiFi, HSDPA/3G, gigabit Ethernet, and a 6-cell battery. Slated for October 22, the Ferrari One will sell for 499 EUR, with Windows 7 pre-installed.

POLL: Would anyone on THIS site buy a "ferrari" branded ACER?
Goodness knows what sort of people would buy a "ferrari" branded ACER laptop when there are better, more elegant, laptops out there at better prices. I might consider buying something with garish colours and naff brand association if I bought it at the one dollar discount shop. But paying a premium? Nope.
Goodness knows what Ferrari are doing selling their brand/logo for anyone to SLAP on to their equipment. Is this because ACER is a sponsor of Ferrari, and unwittingly, they signed a contract saying that ACER would be allowed to use the Ferrari logo for promotional reasons... and NEVER imagined they would stick a logo onto a laptop. How NAFF for Ferrari. How embarrasing.

I highly doubt they'll release it in the United States considering how enthusiastic they are for F1 atm...

This notebook is pretty clearly aimed at netbooks for direct competition, and while it is marginally bigger, it is at least 2x as powerful in the CPU and GPU than a normal atom netbook and has a larger screen. If battery life and weight are competitive, this could be a very good choice for a netbook like sized machine that can actually do some other things, and can fully decode HD content.
