Microsoft has officially teamed up with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre, and the result is a "Report Abuse" button in Microsoft Live/MSN Messenger allowing for instant contact with the authorities. "Behind the Report Abuse button will sit police and intelligence officers who have been specially trained to tackle child sex abuse," Jim Gamble, chief executive of the CEOP Centre, said in a statement issued Monday. While meant for UK users, the new feature is international, and pressing the button in other countries will notify authorities in the USA, Australia, Canada, or Interpol.
