While Intel readies its dual-core Atom processor, a certain company called Raon Digital has already come up with a ULPC notebook (dubbed netbook) named EVERUN NOTE that uses a dual-core AMD Turion X2 processor that has low clock-speeds that reduce power consumption. The netbook comes with a 7" (1024 x 600 px) screen making it very compact, a 1.3 MP web-cam, 802.11b/g and Bluetooth connectivity and an electronic dictionary. It runs Windows XP, uses either a 12 GB SSD or 60 GB HDD storage. It tips the scales at a 742 g.

System specifications are as follows:
  • Dual-Core AMD Turion X2 processor with 1.20 GHz clock speed, 1 MB L2 cache
  • 1 GB DDR2 memory
  • ATI RS690E + 64MB DDR2 Side port Memory, Full DirectX 9.0 support
  • Supports external display up to 1920x1200 px.
  • 60GB 1.8 inch HDD, SSD optional
  • 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR connectivity
  • 1.3M pixel CMOS web camera
  • SD/MMC Slot
  • Realtek ALC262 HD Audio
  • 2xUSB host, 1 x USB mini, 1x mini PCIExpress Slot, USIM card slot
  • 2.5 Hours for web-surfing (rated battery life)
  • Dimensions: 200(W)x 118(H)x 27.5(D) mm

I would buy that, it looks great (macbook-esque) and has decent battery life for such a small thing!
1.2 GHz Dual Core is more than enough to run a vLited Vista quickly, and 60 GB of storage is enough space for music, movies and some low-tech games!
Any word on pricing? If its $499 or less I'm buying it.

I agree with everything in this post. I'm dying to know the price of this.

Holy crap that is small! The fact that its a dual core CPU instead of the single core CPUs that we've been seeing in UMPCs makes it tempting... (but i just got a new EEE PC).

Everything looks pretty good, especially the size, but 2,5hrs battery life is pathetic! Since they rate it at 2,5 the real world value would be no more than 1,5-2hrs. A Cowon D2 portable player has battery life of about 50hrs!

The battery, like the rest of it, is tiny; probably a little 3-cell like what they had on the EEE.
There would be aftermarket 6-cell batteries for it if it becomes popular, and with that size and (comparable) power, it should be popular if they get the price right.
Also, the 2.5 hour battery life is internet browsing, which is probably the only thing besides work processing and flash faming you can do on that thing.

That is a very small PC, I could probably lose it in my paperwork! It will be very interesting if you can play some games and media optimally. With that, along with a decent price tag, this laptop is the one!

Either way, at least its WAAAY better than the Alienware m15 when it comes to battery efficiency. Don't like it? Get a bigger battery its that simple.
