Fluid-cooling specialist Danger Den is ready with its Radeon HD 4870 X2 series water blocks designed to provide high-levels of thermal control to facilitate overclocking. The block provides full coverage cooling to the front part of the PCB that holds all the main components. The memory chips on the rear of the cards might still require passive cooling by means of heat-sinks.

that looks awesome, only problem i see is the fact that the water channels are offset from the two cores...

I agree with that.. not only am i ordering 2 of those but the cards as well! Yea, lets just say im going to be in the dog house for a good minute...
EK FC-4870 looks more nice:)
I agree, EKs is a bit more polished. Id like to see them come out with something to cool the memory, pwm and mosfets as well (or whatever they are called).
The DD block looks like a fish. I cant believe they continue to show picts of the back that emphasize its surface like that.
Now that's one sweet bit of machinery. Hell if my wife can blow 2 grand on a puppy then I can blow all the cash I want on PC & HE equipment...I haven't even spent $1500 this year :eek:

i agree they need to work on there machining on the back i think ill run mine through a sander and smooth it out for better cooling. But its much better than the CoolIt water block...

can wait to get my hand on a one my graduation present 1x 4870x2, 1x4870, 1x 1000+psu, WC, 2x DD waterblocks :D, Then I file for bankruptcy:cry:

The thing that bugs me is its just not professional for a business to show a substandard finish like that (at least put a sticker on the surface to pretend to protect against scratches)

I wasnt pressing an arguement, I was just making sure that everyone realized they were still "samples" but looking at your latest pic, it may be becomming a trend of leaving all the hard machining intact!

In the TPU review of one of their other full coverage blocks, the review mentioned that those machining marks aren't that visible to the naked eye. Only the camera picks them up. The blocks were still flat, and smooth.
