EVGA is deligthted to formally present its first motherboard designed around an Intel chipset: the EVGA X58 SLI. This motherboard is based on the highly anticipated Intel X58/ICH10R chipset combo and is optimized for those who want the absolute best from their brand new Core i7 CPUs. The motherboard was once described on our pages here, so I won't rewrite the same features again. funny to see evga releasing an intel chipset mobo but understandable. However, if i was moving to 1366 i would pick up an Asus P6T series mobo, they are the only ones that offer onboard SAS ports which is a really cool feature for a desktop board.

The contest on their site confuses me. The one who overclocks the QPI to the highest verifiable level using this board will receive a free i7 965. However, since the 965 to my understanding is the only i7 with an unlocked multiplier, It would have an advantage in this contest. The person most likely to win the prize package from this contest would likely be one who already spent outrageous amounts of cash and would benefit much less than someone using a 920 cpu.

Also, I don't see any mention of CrossfireX support. I would assume that's a standard X58 feature, so why wouldn't they mention it?

i'm also very curious to see what the reviews say about this board. if they are not favorable this will probably be their last intel board. plus nvidia will be keeping them busy with their own chipsets expected some time next year.
I thought Nvidia was ending their chipset business...

Too bad eVGA motherboards have such a high failure rate.. ill stick with Asus!
I love that thermalright cooler look alike on the VRMs there and the fan shroud sink too. Looks like a kick ass board.
