Sony New Zealand has put up a teaser site called, "The Wait Is Over", stating, "On the 9th of January you will change the way you look at laptops. Forever". Other than a glossy Vaio logo and a link to enter a competition, for a chance to, "Win the revolutionary new VAIO", no other information is available. Could it be the world's thinnest laptop? The smallest? Or even the longest battery life? Who knows, all we can do now is speculate and wait for more information to emerge. If you want to see it for yourself, the website can be found here.

That's a good marketing ploy, I think. Hope it turns out to be actually good.
I hope it can play crysis on max with a battery life of a day.
Seriously., out of all those things, battery life would make me buy it.

Blah...
It's an OLED screen in a laptop. I would bet money on that.

Sounds about right:

Maybe sony has actually put the Cell processor in it. I read somewhere that toshiba was gonna start using the Cell in some of their laptops.
TPU should hold back news posts until FACTS are available. Let's hope we dont become yet another marketing copy+paste replication site.
Only IBM is actively pursuing CELL processors and they are doing it for servers/supercomputers. It's not likely to find a CELL processor in a laptop any time soon (if ever).
Toshiba is also using them http://www.cell-processor.net/news.php http://gizmodo.com/5025238/toshiba-qosmio-g55-is-first-laptop-with-cell-processor-aboard . mind u these r a cpl months old but nonetheless Toshiba is using them commercially.
I wouldn't get too excited. NZers are gullible. It's probably nothing.
I've seen so many of these and none have actually been very exciting at all.
maybe because SONY excels at overhyping practically everything it owns....
^That is very true. But if its something like an oled screen that would be sweet!
its probably is a OLED slapped on to a laptop take a look http://www.networkworld.com/news/2008/042108-sony-shows-razor-thin-prototype-oled.html
