It appears DFI is preparing an update to its current Intel P45 based P45-T2RS board, called the Blood Iron P45-T2RS Elite. Although an update, the new board with its revised PCB layout and new LAN chip, drops from two PCI-E x16 slots to one, in favour of a third PCI-E x1 slot. Despite being a budget board, it has been said that speeds in excess of 600 FSB are easily attainable. Like most other P45 based boards, the Blood Iron P45-T2RS Elite will support LGA775 Processors ranging from 800 to 1333 FSB, 4 DDR2 slots for up to 8 GB of 1066 MHz, 6 SATAII ports, 12 USB 2.0 ports, legacy support for IDE and floppy, 8CH HD audio via a Realtek ALC885 chip, 1 Gigabit LAN port via a JMC250 chip, a Software Debug LED and on board power and reset switches.
BIOS voltage tweaks include, Vdimm, Vnb, Vcore, Vsb, VHT, and then the usual adjustments for FSB in 1 MHz increments and CPU multiplier. It is also said that DFI have fixed the issue of automatic shutdown while overclocking and that mass production will start next week.

odd target market. Cheap OCing board?

Sounds good, pity about the lost PCI-E slot.

one pci-e ? from DFI? that's kinda rare...

Looks like a cheap option for CPU benchers. Altho those NB/SB heatsinks don't look like they can handle high voltages.

well at least it has a ton of room for wide video cards. 2-3 slot coolers.
Nothings blocking the slot lengthwise either, for the dual GPU cards.

I'd love to know what all the jumpers are on it. There is even one on the IO panel.

IO panel: CMOS clear. its DFI, that should be obvious!

The one on the io is reset cmos. At least it was on my last two DFI boards. Just assuming.
It's nice to see them make budget overclocking boards, I just hope they work on getting budget AM3 and i5 stuff out. I'm thinking of getting a cheap i5 and a decent board for my folding rig once I get a real job with an income. I kinda miss messing with Intel chipsets!

Little modding adding fans on chipset cooling and some cooling on VRM and it should do fine. It is DFI for god sake :D.

Forget this board, if its anything like DFI's more recent stuff all it will do is throw up Error 88 codes, refuse to OC and piss you off a lot.

Another mb company going down ? Abit also tried their best with 'cheaper' stuff in the end.
I think we all know how it ended up...

Personally I understand that they target a special market but even this doesnt explain their pricing strategies. I never noticed their boards getting cheaper with time as newer technologies come ( even if they drop pricing its not as fast as other companies).

Nobody normal will pay +40% to a board thats 1,58% faster than msi/gigabyte/asus top models just because it has a nice heatsink and a yellow slot.
